Rarity: a ski in, ski out chalet in Chamonix valley
There are just three Chamonix catered chalets that are truly ski in, ski out chalets in Chamonix Valley.
That means out of the hundred-or-so chalets here, we are envied by all for our special location.
We are also the ONLY ski in, ski out chalet in Chamonix that will welcome you if you want the luxury of ski in, ski out, but are just a couple, friends or a small group. The other chalets require you to book the entire chalet: ie. you would have to find 8 to 12 guests! If you would like exclusive use, we guarantee this if you are a group of eight or more.
We are situated perfectly, right on one of the main blue pistes in Les Houches - the family end of Chamonix valley - which means we are ideal for beginners and intermediate skiers, as well as mixed ability groups. Simply step into your skis, or strap on your snowboard, and you are ready to ski straight off the property and onto the piste.
At the end of the day, you simply ski straight back into the chalet - to be greeted with a steaming hot cup of tea or a mug of hot chocolate, and freshly baked cakes whilst you let all your muscles relax in front of the roaring log fire.... or we'll pick you up from the bar après-ski, if you prefer.

- We pre-book your ski hire to speed you through the process of getting kitted up - faster, less queuing
- We arrange private ski lessons or guiding for you - we work with the best instructors so you get the best tuition!
- When you stay catered, Geneva airport transfers are normally included - saving you time and energy booking them
- We pre-order your ski passes so they are here upon your arrival - avoiding timewasting queues when you could be skiing
- We can give you recommendations and book your restaurant for you on chalet night off -
No struggling with schoolboy French on the phone - We can arrange massages, childcare, paragliding flights, husky dog sledding - anything Chamonix has to offer that will make your holiday even more special
- Plus.... In addition to ski in, ski out, when you choose to stay at the ski chalet catered, we will drive you to any of the other four Chamonix ski stations in the valley... or perhaps Courmayeur in Italy, which is just a short drive away.
Thus, you are not limited to skiing in just Les Houches - instead, you can experience ALL the ski stations in Chamonix valley and beyond... This has the added bonus that you will always experience the best snow conditions available.
Ease those aching limbs in the hot tub
After your long hard day's skiing, you will probably find there nothing is better than being able to relax your tired muscles sipping a chilled beer, or a glass of sparkling Champagne, in our jacuzzi hot tub. With the snow all around, you are enveloped by the bubbling hot water, steam rising like a mist in the air, laughing with friends, whilst the sunset turns the amazing snow-capped mountains all around you a rich shade of burgundy.
Are you musical?
If so, then you'll love this....
For anyone in your group who is musical, we have a chalet piano, chalet guitar, didgeridoo and tambourine you can use (and lots of sheet music) if you fancy a sing-a-long. Also, Leighton studied classical piano for a good many years....
So if you want, you can enjoy some live in-chalet entertainment: a little light jazz and easy classics with your early evening cocktails, anyone? From Chopin classics to honky tonk... Not too many chalets have their own resident pianist for your pleasure!

If you are tired, or perhaps if the weather isn't so great, you can chill out in front of the roaring log fire on the sofa to watch one of over 1,500 movies from our multimedia entertainment system with surround sound on our large 42" plasma screen, or listen to some great music : plug your iPod in, or alternatively, select from our range of over 15,000 mp3s.
You can surf the internet - using either the guest computer, or via the Wi-Fi installed in the chalet.
You can enjoy playing on our new Nintendo Wii - with WiiFit, 2 remotes, nunchuks and a selection of games.
Alternatively, you could simply curl up on the sofa by the fire with one of the hundreds of books available for you to enjoy in the lounge.
Gastronomic Food: Top Three Finalist in the Times Chalet Chef Competition 2010
We were very proud to be top three finalists for the Times Chalet Chef competition 2010 in a cook-off judged by Michelin-starred chef, Tom Aikens, and the Times food and drink editor, amongst others.
Helen and Leighton own and run the chalet, and we cook for you ourselves.
This means you do not run the risk of your Chamonix ski holiday being 'less than you expect' as a result of having young, inexperienced "chalet hosts" on a gap year who have just finished a one week cooking course and are more interested in their skiing than your holiday, or having your "professional" chef quit just before you arrive on holiday. It does happen!
Coming into our nineth year of continuous service - and with 26 years cumulative knowledge of Chamonix valley - we pride ourselves on the quality of our chalet food and our chalet services - which can only keep getting better, year after year!
Chamonix Chalet Catered? or Self Catered?
In the Winter, you can have the choice of the Chamonix chalet catered - where you can enjoy superb four-course restaurant-quality meals from the comfort of the chalet - wonderful local specialities as an option - and great free-flowing wine - or take the entire chalet self-catered.
In the Summer, Maison Jaune operates as one of Chamonix's B&B's or can be hired self-catered. Situated right on the famous Tour du Mont-Blanc, it is the perfect place to stay for walkers, hikers, paragliders, climbers or mountain bikers in the Summer.
